Founded in 2010 Bija Yoga School at The Yoga Bar has graduated many of the area’s most respected and knowledgeable yoga teachers.

We practice so that we might be healthy in body, calm in mind, useful in daily life, and then, we long to inspire the same in others.

Take the seat of the teacher.

The Yoga Bar/ Bija’s 200-Hour Yoga Certification is a comprehensive yoga teacher training program with ten years of experience certifying some of the Midwest’s most beloved teachers. Through our practical curriculum, we create a foundation for teaching yoga skillfully and effectively.

At Bija we embrace a holistic approach to yoga, combining the wisdom of traditional yoga practices with contemporary understandings of the body. The yoga taught is not another ‘style’ of Yoga but draws from the healing traditions of the Sri T Krishnamacharya lineage.

Our Yoga Alliance Certified RYT-200 hour training qualifies you to teach in the U.S. and all over the world.

Bija’s teachers possess deep knowledge offered in the tradition of parampara, and their passion for teaching means that they teach from the heart. Students and teachers create an accepting environment for learning and transformation.

Is this the course for me?

This fulfilling and life-changing journey is for both those who wish to teach yoga and those who feel drawn to embark on a personal journey of self-inquiry and personal-development.

Each of our trainings has a blend of students with the desire to become yoga teachers and gain our internationally recognized RYT-200 Yoga Teaching qualification, and students who do not wish to be yoga teachers but have a sincere desire to deepen their own knowledge and understanding of Yoga and Self

If your desire is to teach, the training will provide you with the knowledge and confidence to lead classes and private lessons. You will gain the skills to teach safe and engaging classes to share your love of yoga with the world.

For all students, this training provides an incredible opportunity to connect to your true nature, embrace new relationships and acquire tools to empower you to move through life with greater joy, passion, and ease, all while being fully supported by a like-minded group of yogis and new friends.
